The things that you do and the sites that you see while on vacation are what make it worth packing up and leaving home. But they can also start to add to the cost quite quickly and could mean that you end up back installing custom license plate frames will a larger bill to pay than you can handle. One of the ways to keep the costs down is to throw some free experiences into your itinerary. And there are certainly some great choices when visiting Atlanta.

Centennial Olympic Park was the site of the Olympic Games and now plays hosts to some of the best free events that the city sees throughout the year. If you're visiting from your Mississauga office space on a Wednesday you can experience some live music in the evening here with Wednesday Wind Down. There are also Family Days once a month with various activities and Music at Noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the summer.

A city is its arts and culture and Atlanta is a place that's full of both. You will see it when your stroll through a neighborhood like Castleberry Hill and see ArtsWalk or could go and check out the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. You could be an art collector or an average person who drives a Toronto taxi and you are sure to find something that inspires you at one of these locations.

If you're more interested in getting outdoors than in spending the afternoon in a museum than there are some great parks to choose from in the downtown Atlanta area. Grant Park has free swimming during the week and Piedmont Park has a dog park and is part of the PATH system of trails. Woodruff Park in located in the centre of the city and even has an outdoor reading room. This is a wonderful place to sit if you're visiting from Leaside or are from Atlanta and on your lunch break.

When you're visiting a new place it's always interesting to see what it was in the past as well as what it is today. There are all sorts of historical sites and museums that are free to those visiting this city. You could explore the Governor's Mansion or the Georgia State Capitol and definitely need to see the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site.
